– Our Story –
What began as a creative hobby decorating family events has blossomed into one of the North Shore’s most trusted and loved balloon and event decor companies.
Back in 2014, Carolina Velasquez-Freeman was busy balancing life as a working mom, planning her own wedding, and decorating parties for family and friends on the side. With every event she styled, the requests kept growing. She had a natural gift for bringing beauty to every space and knew she wanted to build something bigger. That’s when Fairytale Moments Events was born.
Carolina – The Artist Behind the Magic
Carolina is a balloon artist, creative visionary, and proud Latina business owner based in Swampscott, MA. Born in Uruguay and raised in the U.S., she brings heart, culture, and a love of celebration to everything she does.
Her passion for decor started early, but it truly came to life after years of hands-on experience and self-taught learning. Carolina officially launched her balloon division, Your Balloon Lady, as a way to offer custom balloon arches, garlands, columns, and unique balloon gifts for all kinds of events—birthdays, graduations, showers, grand openings, and everything in between.
Today, she’s known for her bold use of color, personalized touches, and community spirit. She’s also bilingual (¡Hablamos Español!), which helps her connect with a wider range of clients across the region.
The Family Behind the Business
Fairytale Moments is a true family operation. Carolina’s husband, Randy, is a talented photographer and helps run the photo booth side of the business—including their interactive Magical Mirror and 360 photo booth experiences. Their daughters, Janelle and Gigi, jump in to help when they’re not in school—whether it’s prepping balloons, greeting guests, or working events alongside Mom and Dad.
Together, they’ve built a company that feels just like their events: full of love, laughter, and a little bit of magic.
Where We Are Now
Based in Swampscott, Fairytale Moments Events serves clients all over Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Maine, and Rhode Island. The business offers everything from full event decor to balloon styling, rentals, backdrops, linens, sweets tables, and photo booth experiences.
